The problem
When it comes to logistic operations - efficiency is an essential aspect to stay competitive on the market and desirable for customers. Didadi Logistics Tech recognised the need to streamline their processes as their daily manual tasks took hours to complete. The company needs to send parcels from the inbound warehouse to Amazon warehouse with UPS shipments. While the number of shipments continued to grow, their approach struggled to satisfy growing demand. The creation of every shipment took several hours to complete. On top of that, every shipment included multiple parcels, which added more hours to daily manual work.
The main cause of the problem was connected to UPS WorldShip software. As it is a local desktop application, it is impossible to derive data from there by several people at the same time. The application simply was not designed to handle multiple users at once, which resulted in an operations slowdown for Didadi Logistic Tech.
The solution
With Pluxbox Platform we created an automated process, which connects Didadi's system and UPS to seamlessly transfer all the essential data between them. The designed automation collects all the required for shipment data from corresponding CSV files from Didadi's system directly to UPS, which in turn creates a correct shipment label as well as track and trace link. As a result, employees do not need anymore to copy/paste all the data manually.
The result
The common effort resulted in an increasing efficiency of daily operations for Didadi. Instead of a five hour long process of manually creating all the shipment labels with UPS, Didadi can now process a container with multiple parcels in less than five minutes. More than that, the designed automation drastically reduces the risk of human error in contrast to manual copy/paste process.
The new system allows several people to access all the essential data at the same time without relying on a single local desktop application. On top of that, all the data is not stored anymore in a single isolated application, but in one interconnected place. It improves the overall data quality and makes the process of data exchange seamless. As a result, the company is now able to catch up and exceed the ever growing demand.
